At our Lapoint surf camp in Canggu, Bali, we want to share the stoke of surfing and help take your skills to the next level, all while having a lot of fun in the process. Bali has terrific waves, and in our courses below, you'll find a customized experience for your level. Here in Bali, Indonesia, you’ll learn to surf in a true paradise or level up your surfing in one of the world’s best locations for a surf holiday.
Beginner - No previous surfing experience is needed
Surf - Level 1
If paradise had a surf school, it would be this. Bali’s warm water and gentle waves make it a dream destination for beginners.
In our Level 1 course, you’ll learn everything from board control and surf etiquette to how to pop up and catch your first wave, always with the help of our experienced instructors and their mega-friendly Balinese charm.
Ratio: Maximum 3 students per instructor
Lower intermediate: Around one week of surfing experience requested (~8 surfing days)
Surf - Level 2
How does having your next surf breakthrough in tropical water sound? In Level 2, you’ll move beyond the whitewater and start catching Bali’s unbroken waves. We’ll teach you how to position yourself in the lineup, paddle into green waves, and work on making smooth, controlled turns.
Bali’s beginner-friendly breaks offer the perfect balance of challenge and fun, giving you the best possible conditions to improve as a lower intermediate surfer.
Ratio: Maximum 3 students per instructor
Intermediate: Around 2 months of surfing experience requested (~40 surfing days)
Surf - Level 3
If there was ever a place to unlock your best surfing yet, Bali is it. This island paradise is home to world-class waves that suit every step of your Level 3 journey. From cruisy and long rides to more challenging takeoffs, you'll sharpen your technique and get comfortable in a lineup that can be a little busier (but totally worth it).
Bali will teach you to confidently read waves, handle faster sections, and improve your overall surf style. You’ll get to experiment with different boards, safety procedures and spot analysis.
Ratio: Maximum 3 students per instructor
Advanced: Around 3 months of surfing experience requested (~65 surfing days)
Surf - Level 4
Bali’s legendary waves need no introduction. At Level 4, you’ll be fine-tuning your technique on world-class waves, learning to read the tides, and executing maneuvers with precision.
The Level 4 course is designed to make you confident in most types of breaks, so we'll surf mellow reef-, point, and beach breaks to help increase your comfort zone. Backed with the local knowledge, passion, and expertise of our surfing instructors, you'll have the confidence and safety net to surf some of the best spots on the island.

For surfers with Level 1 & 2 completed or equivalent experience
Longboard - Level 3
The Level 3 Longboard Course is where style meets skill. This program is built for surfers who already feel confident in the water and are ready to develop true longboard technique, from roll-in take-offs to cross-stepping, trimming, and nose riding. Across the week, you’ll work with our longboard rigs at the camp and surf waves perfect for walking the board.
Expect steady progression toward the hang 5 and hang 10 longboard goals. You’ll ride a curated mix of logs, noseriders, and performance longboards, with both hard-top and soft-top options available.

Surf Intensive
For surfers of all levels (1-4) looking to squeeze every drop out of their week in Bali. The Surf Intensive program is designed for anyone who wants more: more time in the water, more coaching, and more chances to level up fast. This upgrade gives you 10×2 hours of surf coaching with Rip Curl School of Surf.
Levels 3 and 4 also get two video analyses per week to fine-tune technique and fast-track your next surf breakthrough.
Experienced surfers only
Surf Guiding
Our Surf Guiding in Bali gives you instant access to local knowledge, a solid crew of surf buddies, and a stress-free way to score the island’s best waves.
Over five days, you’ll head out with an experienced local guide for two sessions per day, always targeting fun, rippable conditions over heavy closeouts. Expect daily spot briefings, smart timing, and support from someone who knows exactly where to be (and when!).
Note: Surf Guiding is not a surf lesson, and no equipment is included in this pack. It's for advanced, fully independent surfers who can read the ocean, paddle out confidently, and handle a mix of Bali reef setups.

When is the best time to go on a surf trip?
Bali’s tropical waves are surfable year-round, and every season offers its own charm. The dry season (May to October) is the peak surf season, with consistent swells and sunny days. During the wet season (November to April), you’ll find smaller crowds, lighter waves, and more relaxed vibes—perfect for those looking to avoid busy lineups. Whether you're just starting or chasing barrels, Bali has it all!
