The Wonderstate Retreat x Lapoint: Join Ivy Miller in Nicaragua, October 2026
July 1, 2026 (Updated: July 16, 2026)
Are you ready for a surf retreat unlike any other? Forget about just catching waves or checking boxes on a wellness schedule; this week is all about stepping outside your comfort zone, reconnecting with your true self, and experiencing surfing (and life) from a completely new yet familiar perspective.
Welcome to Wonderstate, a retreat built around play, movement, and real connection, hosted by pro surfer/comedian Ivy Miller at Lapoint in Los Clavos, Nicaragua.
A retreat built on play

At its core, the Wonderstate Retreat is about rediscovering something most of us lose as we grow up: that instinctive, curious, unfiltered version of ourselves, our “inner child.”
It’s the part of you that:
Tries without overthinking
Moves before doubt kicks in
Doesn’t hold back out of fear of judgment
Through surfing, movement, and shared experiences, this retreat helps you loosen old patterns, open up to new possibilities, and experience life more freely and playfully.
– Somewhere along the way, most people trade fun for safety and control. This week is about getting it back, said Ivy.

This is not a wellness retreat; it’s an expansion retreat disguised as play
Many of us don’t feel stuck because of the world around us, but because of ourselves. We tend to overthink, hold back, and crave connection, but not fully allow it when it happens.
– What’s central is the sense of play and joy and what creates that wonderlike state. That’s why we’re calling the retreat Wonderstate. Connecting with the part of you who isn't afraid to try, who doesn't overthink, the part that moves before it doubts, said Ivy.
Ivy is heading to Lapoint Nicaragua together with Sara Locke, her best friend since 1st Grade.
– The goal of this retreat is simple: to reconnect with your inner joy. To come back to that childlike version of yourself, the one that laughs freely and doesn’t hold back. There’s so much hustle culture and self-limiting belief. Sara and I want to create a space where you can break out of that, let go of fear, and reconnect with a freer, more instinctive version of yourself, said Ivy.
This week is designed to create space for change. When you stop worrying about how you’re perceived, push yourself physically, and allow yourself to be seen as you are, transformation happens fast.
– This retreat will feel like being back in a treehouse with your friends when you were twelve, just having the best time. There’s no ego, no filter, said Sara.
Perfection or performance is out of the picture this week, and instead, it’s about curiosity, play, and real connection. The retreat combines:
Surfing and movement
Playfulness and deeper conversations
Structured sessions and spontaneous moments together with others
Meet your host: Ivy Miller

Pro surfer/comedian Ivy brings energy, humor, and a way of making people feel safe and seen enough to be themselves immediately.
Her presence guides the week:
Surf sessions
Group conversations
Everyday moments and spontaneous experiences
She loves sharing her passion for surfing because it’s one of the fastest ways to face fear, be present, and connect with yourself. Most of all, she’s excited to watch guests surprise themselves, and to see the moment someone stops caring about what others think and leans into the feeling of being silly, wiping out in the waves, and truly having fun.
– I want to get to know each and every woman who comes to this retreat, hang out and surf together, said Ivy.
The feeling: Free, safe, and unfiltered

Expect a mix of excitement and uncertainty, especially at the start. That’s part of the process. Over the week, most guests find themselves trying new things, letting go a little, and taking a step or two out of their comfort zones.
By the time you leave, you’ll likely feel:
Challenged, in the best way
Connected to the people around you
Surprised by what you’re capable of
Three words that capture the week: Free. Safe. Unfiltered.
– You're free to express yourself in a way that is not going to be judged. You’ll be supported by this group of women who are on the same page as you, said Ivy.
What your days will look like during the Wonderstate Retreat
A typical day blends structure with freedom:
Mornings: Breathwork and intention-setting, followed by surf or movement sessions
Afternoons: Workshops, conversations, or guided experiences around mindset, connection, and physical expression
Evenings: Shared meals, laughter, and spontaneous moments that often become highlights
Some standout experiences:
Catching a wave you didn’t think you could
Watching someone else push past their fear
Ecstatic dance and full self-expression moments
Sunset realizations that hit quietly but deeply
Group moments where strangers suddenly feel like mirrors
This retreat fills your days with connections and shared moments, without feeling forced or overly structured.
– We’ll mix surfing with things like a winery day, exploring town, and playful activities. But what really matters are the moments in between. The connection, the laughter, and those glimpses of your true self again. That’s what makes people leave feeling more confident, joyful, and free, said Ivy.
