Our favourite things to do in Bali in spring

June 30, 2025

Note: This post was originally published on November 5th, 2020.

Spring is low-season in Bali, which means fewer people at the beach, in the surf and at popular places & activities, so expect fewer lines and more space for you to enjoy during your spring break in Bali.

Treat yourself

If you want massages, spa treatments or just spend the day by the pool, resorts like Potato Head, Ku De Ta, The Lawn, Finn’s Beach Club and loads more all have many attractive options to help you keep your shoulders from touching your ears. Usually, these popular places are hiving during the summer months, but during spring you can properly relax and enjoy a more chilled vibe.

Explore the island

While we absolutely love the south and east sides of Bali, highlights of the north and the west such as Ubud, Singaraja, Buleleng and Menjangan is also worth a visit as these areas are full of great temples, amazing viewpoints and memorable gems. In general, you find way fewer tourists here and even less during spring. This will give you a feeling of being a proper explorer and a chance to having a piece of paradise to yourself. We love to rent a scooter, splash on some sunscreen and ride where the wind takes us, exploring the beautiful island of Bali!

Discover yoga

Exploring the island, you might want to stop off at one of the many yoga studios on the island to stretch out after a few hours of travel. Given the lesser crowds in spring, you can choose classes and times freely according to your schedule. Add that to the two complimentary yoga classes we offer at our surf camp in Bali, and consider your surfer’s muscles well taken care of.

Chasing waterfalls

Many of the waterfalls of Bali are nothing short of majestic, and we especially love Tegenungan, Gitgit, and Sekumpul waterfalls. After winter and the wet season, spring might be the absolute best time to explore the waterfalls in Bali as they are as good looking as ever.

Experience the rice fields

The rice fields and the world-famous traditional rice terraces of Tegallalang are amazingly green in this period, so be sure to grab a morning coffee outside the city centre and witness the sun dancing off the beautiful greens, blue and gold in the rice fields.

Bonus: Go surfing

With fewer people in the water, yet many playful swells to enjoy, this time is perfect to visit our surfing camp in Bali. It’s great to learn to surf in Bali all year round, but spring is a convenient time as you can find waves on both sides of the island, with breaks lighting up from Kuta beach, Legian beach, Canggu beach, Sanur, Nusa Du to Uluwatu, Bingin, Dreamland and the Bukit Peninsula. Come surf with us, we look forward to sharing some waves with you!
