You don’t have to travel far to experience great waves and a mild, pleasant climate. Especially for our European visitors, Portugal is only a small carbon footprint trip away, and an excellent choice for your adventure holiday. Both beginner-friendly waves, and excellent conditions for more experienced surfers, can be found all year round.
For the yogis, Ericeira is a peaceful and quiet place, where you really feel at one with nature. During the summertime, we make the most of the surroundings with yoga sessions at the beach and practising mindfulness in nature. Our yoga shala is celebrated, also during the winter months, with its fireplace and cosy atmosphere.

Ericeira has a lot to offer; great restaurants with local seafood and amazing views over the Atlantic, cobblestoned streets with cute cafeés and surf shops, cool bars and beautiful traditional fisherman’s cottages side by side, incredible beaches, and some of the best waves in Europe.
Nestled between beautiful Sintra and rustic Peniche, and with lively Lisbon just 40 minutes away, it’s also a lot to explore in the area. And with Portugal’s 300 days of sunshine a year, you can enjoy it all year round. It’s also a must to check out the picturesque wineries and Nazaré, famous for some of the biggest waves on the planet.
If you’re staying for a while, it’s also well worth it to take a weekend trip to magical Porto (3 hours north) or the world-famous Algarve coast (3 hours south).

For us, Portugal is where it all started, when four young guys went on a surf trip to Ericeira, Portugal they didn’t want to end. While watching the sunset after an awesome session, Sebastian said: “Life should feel like this every day”. That statement sparked an idea, and after quitting their 9-5 jobs, they pursued the dream of setting up a surf school, determined to share the unique feeling of surfing in Portugal with others. Now, almost 20 years later, not only does Lapoint have surf camps in Portugal, but you can visit our camps on your surf holiday all around the world.

This is how a day goes on our surf camp in Ericeira: wake up to a delicious breakfast buffet, with a vast variety of tasty and healthy options to kickstart the day. After breakfast, we head out for the surf lesson, either at the stunning beach by the camp or other nearby spots, depending on the conditions. We want you to have the best surf trip possible, and when you are stoked, we are stoked! Later on, you can explore the nearby area, hang out at the surf camp or join a yoga session.
To make your surfing holiday in Portugal even better, we also arrange day trips and excursions throughout the week, exploring the local area and one of the most exciting cities in the world, Lisbon.
In the evening, we gather to socialize around sangria, food and great music. The perfect place to watch the sunset, with a one-of-kind view overlooking the beach and the ocean, our surf camp in Ericeira, Portugal is the place to be.
