Beginner to Advanced Surf School: Our way of teaching surfing
After more than 15 years of running surf courses around the world, our biggest motivation is still the same: seeing the stoke when surfers progress. The feeling of improvement in the ocean is universal, no matter if you’re standing on a board for the first time or refining your technique as an advanced surfer. At Lapoint, we teach surfing through a proven level-based framework, designed to help every surfer progress safely, confidently, and with maximum fun, based on three main pillars:
Right background
Why does surfing in the right group matter? Progress happens faster when you surf with others at a similar level. That’s why we use a clear surf level system and often divide each level into smaller sub-groups.
This allows our instructors to:
Choose the right conditions for each group
Create a comfortable and motivating learning environment
Make sure everyone gets waves suited to their ability
Surfing with people at your level means more confidence, more waves, and better progression.
Right Feedback
Why is individual coaching so important? No two surfers are the same. Everyone progresses differently, struggles with different techniques, and needs different feedback.
That’s why small groups and experienced instructors are at the core of our surf courses. As your level increases, group sizes get smaller, allowing coaches to:
Spot individual mistakes
Prioritize personalized feedback
Help you unlock the next step in your surfing
This tailored approach is one of the biggest reasons surfers progress faster with Lapoint.
Right Waves
How do we choose the best surf spots for your level? The right wave can make or break a surf session. Our local surf coaches are experts at reading conditions and know exactly which surf spots work best for each level and forecast. Every day, they check the waves along the coast before deciding where each group should surf.
The goal is always the same:
Safe conditions
The right challenge
Maximum wave count

The beach is our home. We are leaving it better than we found it.
We have made a commitment to our ocean, beaches and community. They are our playground, our home and our livelihood. We are going to leave them better than we found them.
