Season: 23st of December - 3rd of February
Suits: All levels
Age: From 18+ (teenagers and children can accompany adults)
Level 2 is for kiters who have taken lessons before and want more comfort and guiding on the water. Your instructor will start at your level and lead you to progression through kiting in Zanzibar.
Start the day with a visit to the gym or straight to the exotic breakfast with a variety of fruits, pancakes, omelets and fresh juice. The wind is calmer in the morning, and if the wind’s not strong enough for kiting, we’ll do other activities, such as snorkeling, volleyball, strolling in the local village, or simply relax between the palm trees, giving our bodies time to prepare for the kiting ahead. Our kite center is only 10 minutes away when you walk along the beach, and all our instructors are IKO certified. There will always be fun and social evening activities, such as a bonfire, Masaai show, movie nights, drinks at our bar and maybe heading out to the nightlife of Paje.
Are you dreaming about the first board start, upwind riding and more confidence and control with the kite? This is the course for you! You want extra help on the water to become a safe and independent kiter. Your coach will adjust the course to your level and your goals, and you will make a plan for the week together. We want you to have fun with kiting, feel safe, be hooked on the sport and meet new fun people you can travel with later. At the spot, you will find a large beach where it is safe to launch and land your kite, toilets, restaurant/bar, kite shop with repair facilities, shaded areas where you can chill between the sessions, and a great atmosphere with music. We think the most important thing is for you to have fun in the water, get a thrill from kiting and meet loads of great people at Lapoint Kite camp Zanzibar.
You can book your flight all the way to Zanzibar, and you might have to depart one day earlier to arrive on Sunday. Good airlines are Qatar, Emirates, JetAirFly, Condor (Lufthansa), Turkish Airways, KLM, Kenyan Airways and Swiss Airlines. The cheapest option is flying to Dar Es Salaam, a big city on the mainland, and flying or taking a ferry from there to Zanzibar.
The flight from DAR to ZNZ (Zanzibar International Airport) is around 70$ one-way, you can check airlines like: Coastal Air, Zan Air, and Precision Air.
The ferry is around 35$ one-way, and you will need to take a taxi from the airport to the ferry docks. Cost will be about $20 according to how well you can negotiate the fare. They are all fast ferries. Will take about 1 1/2 to 2 hours to get from Dar to Stone Town (the nearest big city from Paje, 45 minutes away).
Arrival- and departure day are Sundays. We organize transfers to and from the airport and from the ferry dock in Stone Town (if you fly to the mainland and take a ferry from there). Transfer is included in the price if you arrive and depart on Sundays. It might be a good idea to depart your home country on Saturday (with for example Turkish Arlines, Kenya Airways or KLM) to arrive Zanzibar early Sunday morning. Let us know your arrival time and flight number.
There are many different flight-options to get here. We recommend www.momondo.com for finding your trip.
