Kite on the most beautiful kite spots that you can dream of! Welcome to the charming village of Paje on the Southeast coast of Zanzibar with great stable winds, powder white beaches, and crystal-clear turquoise waters.
You will be accommodated in spacious and cozy dorms or in double rooms: with private bathrooms, AC and fans for the warm nights and mosquito nets. There are 3 dorms with 4-6 beds in each room. There are hammocks, shaded chill spots, WIFI, volleyball court, a Rocky Balboa style gym, and much more. Our private beach is only 150 meters away, offering white sand and turquoise water. There are deck chairs and shaded areas when the sun gets too strong. The best kite spot, and our Kite Centre, is 10 minutes walking along the beach.
You can book your flight all the way to Zanzibar, and you might have to depart one day earlier to arrive on Sunday. Good airlines are Qatar, Emirates, JetAirFly, Condor (Lufthansa), Turkish Airways, KLM, Kenyan Airways and Swiss Airlines. The cheapest option is flying to Dar Es Salaam, a big city on the mainland, and flying or taking a ferry from there to Zanzibar.
The flight from DAR to ZNZ (Zanzibar International Airport) is around 70$ one-way, you can check airlines like: Coastal Air, Zan Air, and Precision Air.
The ferry is around 35$ one-way, and you will need to take a taxi from the airport to the ferry docks. Cost will be about $20 according to how well you can negotiate the fare. They are all fast ferries. Will take about 1 1/2 to 2 hours to get from Dar to Stone Town (the nearest big city from Paje, 45 minutes away).
ARRIVAL & TRANSFER
Arrival- and departure day are Sundays. We organize transfers to and from the airport and from the ferry dock in Stone Town (if you fly to the mainland and take a ferry from there). It might be a good idea to depart your home country on Saturday (with for example Turkish Arlines, Kenya Airways or KLM) to arrive Zanzibar early Sunday morning. Depending on your level, we will teach you the following:
Learn how to get up on the board.
How to continue kiting without ending up at the bottom of the beach each time.
Do you know how to do a self-rescue? Are your launching and landing skills good enough?
How to behave in the water, how to handle the crowd and how to pass other kiters in the water.
The coach will see these things you need to improve on and tell you what to do different in order to take your kiting to the next level.
Your first jumps and rotations.
