Lapoint Kite camp Haukeliseter, Norway

Lapoint snowkiting camp Norway is in a comfortable, traditional lodge surrounded by magnificent mountains. The building, Haukeliseter fjellstue, is owned by The Norwegian Trekking Association (DNT), Norway's biggest outdoor activities organization. Here we combine snowkiting in the elements with exceptional cuisine and unique facilities like an outdoor hot tub and a soul-soothing sauna. The area around Haukeliseter provides excellent snowkiting conditions, with huge flat areas on a frozen lake to learn and practice freestyle. At Haukeliseter you can also rent snowshoes and join dog sled tours, avalanche courses and a wide range of activities for adults and children.

How to get here

Arriving in the mountains

The kite course runs from Friday to Sunday. The theory starts Friday night at 21:00, and we usually finish at around 4 pm Sunday afternoon. We recommend you come by car to Haukeliseter, as we sometimes have to drive to other spots for optimal conditions. Haukeliseter is located directly off of E134 and is easy to find.

By car from Oslo (285 km): Follow E18 towards Drammen/Kristiansand. Take E134 from Drammen towards Kongsberg and Haugesund. Haukeliseter will be on your left 30 minutes after passing Haukeli village.

By car from Stavanger and Bergen: Follow signs to Røldal and continue 30 minutes to Haukeliseter.

By bus: The Haukeliekspressen bus service departs from Oslo and Haugesund, Stavanger or Bergen (via Odda). Your bus stop is ”Haukeliseter fjellstue”, where you are conveniently dropped off in front of the entrance. We might kite at another kite spot on Sunday, so don't book your return ticket earlier than 1800 on Sunday afternoon.

Vær forberedt på at vi kanskje kiter en annen plass på søndagen, og hjemreisen med buss bør være etter klokken 18 (avklar med instruktør før du kjøper en tidligere bussreise hjem).

The beach is our home. We are leaving it better than we found it.

We have made a commitment to our ocean, beaches and community. They are our playground, our home and our livelihood. We are going to leave them better than we found them. That means that all our employees, friends and guests helps out with recycling and taking other actions for the environment. Each week there are beach cleaning and recycling activities to ensure that our home stays the way it was supposed to be.
