Petter went from zero to hero with kitesurfing in Sardinia

Kiting upwind and becoming an independent kiter was Petter Aaberg’s main goal when he went to Sardinia with Lapoint. He studies in the north of Norway and he had been trying to kite for about half year before he decided to travel to warmer and more consistent conditions.

– The conditions in Lofoten are difficult, with inconsistent winds, huge waves and rocks. I broke my wrist after being dragged into a heap of stones, says Petter.

Petters´ main problem was to keep distance of hazards. He was not able to ride upwind and avoid them. The Level 2-package and coaching from instructor Marco Orru gave him confidents and boosted his progression.

– The conditions were perfect, and Marco pointed out what I was doing wrong. I was riding upwind after only a couple of hours!

Petter and Marco focused on jumping the following days. Petter wore a helmet with radio, and Marco gave him instructions while he was kiting.

– Marco was constantly telling me how I could improve my jumps. It was a good and effective way of learning and progressing. Petter was boosting and flying high before he left Sardinia.
